~Creating Is Medicine~
My designs reflect my culture in the intricate details of every piece, right down to the variety of beads, shells, & quills used to reflect our unique style.
My Story
Taŋyáŋ yahí! Welcome, I am Čhasmú Makȟóčhe Wanáȟča Wiŋyaŋ ~Desert Flower Woman from the Oglala, Sicangu Lakota & Tsalagi nations. I also go by Alice Marie Hollow Horn. I’ve been making beaded and shell earrings for over 20 years now. My designs are inspired from the love I have for my people, our traditions, my family and our beautiful homelands.
I have been creating jewelry since my son was born in 2002. I am self-taught and my designs have grown much over the years to include a variety of signature creations. I incorporate porcupine quills, a variety of shells, Indian head buffalo nickels, simulated elk teeth, buffalo teeth (ethically sourced), beads of all different sizes and colors to create works of wearable art. My passion is earrings, although I do make necklace and earrings sets, bracelets, barrettes, beaded hats and medallions. Feel free to browse my gallery of past creations and current items for sale. I try to post new items twice a month at least.
Take a look at my Instragram and Facebook for a broader catalog of my collections over the years. Philámayaye- thank you very much for taking the time to view my website. Much Love!
